    Xbox Series X 4k issues with Vizio V405-G9


    I have been playing in 4k on my series x on this tv for a while and then one day it just would not let me play in 4k anymore. I have no idea what the issue is. I have looked at countless videos on youtube but i cant find one that supports my TV. I have toyed with the settings to check for things and I have not found any fixes for this issue. I have everything properly setup and for some reason I cant play in 4k anymore and it bums me out because of the money i spent on thsi console. If anyone has a fix for the Vizio V405-G9 please let me know.

    Xbox series X ultrawide 32:9

    Yes, but you will have black bars on either side as the Xbox Series X|S only supports the 16:9 aspect ratio and not the super ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio of the G9. The Xbox does detect it as 4K UHD + HDR so still looks super nice.

    4K UHD Resolution

    My TV, Vizio V655-G9, says in the manual it supports 4K UHD @ 60hz. However, my Xbox One S says my TV does not support 4K @ 60hz. So I can select 4K resolution in settings.

    Everything is updated and I have tried many different ports and many different HDMI cables. Advanced settings is on Auto-Detect.
    Hey so i ran into this issues with my older vizio as well. So you need to go into your tv settings or use the vizio smart cast app on your phone you can download it if you down have it and connect your tv to your phone but you need to go to your input settings
    and select the hdmi port your xbox is connected to and turn on full UHD Color this allows the 4k image go back to your xbox tv and display options and check tv details if there not showing up sometimes restarting the xbox is necessary

    I'm having EXACTLY the same issue that you're seeing here, and have tried the same CC settings within the Xbox as you have, to no avail.

    My TV/Display is a Vizio 4K P-Series, so it's good to know that it's not affecting just the Vizio.

    Have you had any success with troubleshooting the issue?
