Xbox Series X 1080i resolution support?

1080p/I have the exact same resolution. It’s just how it’s transmitted that changes. The same number of pixels per second. As you noted the odd/even cadence can cause artifacting, but it saves bandwidth for TV broadcasts.

As all modern TVs support 1080p, like the optical port sometimes legacy must go. Your TV likely supports 720p , which is supported by the Xbox.

You should actually be able to use the 1080 resolution since it's part of the console capacities. If even after changing the settings you are still facing issues it would be best to have the console exchanged if possible (if it's just bought) or you can contact our online support for further assistance.

There is a big difference between 1080p, which is supported by the Series X....and 1080i which, as far as I can tell, isn't supported as Interlaced is too likely to cause artifacts and create a rubbish picture.

Whether future support would include 1080i? I would doubt it, although I have no knowledge

Many people would like to know when MS is going to patch 1080i support for the Xbox One. There are a lot of people with HDTVs that can only display 1080i and 480p and the Xbox One's is downscaling everything to Standard Definition 480p because the Xbox
One won't display 1080i.



The only official reason MS has given to the Xbox One's lack of 1080i support is because "fast-moving video, such as sports footage, suffers a slight blur at 1080i". That seems like a ridiculous reason to not include a resolution that many people prefer
over 720p and a resolution that is needed for many people that own HDTVs that can only display 1080i. Most people prefer 1080i over 720p for TV content that doesn't contain fast moving video (which is most TV content besides sports) because 1080i provides
a higher resolution.

Of course, 1080p (full-hd) resolution is supported by the Xbox Series X.

The maximum supported resolution of Series S will be 1440P. Series X just like the Xbox One X before it will support 1440P too.
