    Xbox series won’t read some Xbox one games or some Xbox series x games


    My Xbox series x has been great but I recently noticed some disc just simply won’t be recognized. I went on Microsoft’s website tried troubleshooting. But they say it the disc. So I bought a new copy of a game and the disc still won’t be read. Really weird. This has happened with three different games so far (call of duty: modern warfare 2, hades, and Tony hawk pro skater 1 & 2) meanwhile other disc like battlefield 2042 and far cry 6 works every time I put those discs in. Most blu rays and dvds run just fine in it as well. I apologize if this has been asked before but I’m really looking for a solution. I bought my halo edition xbox series x at its launch and have been having this issue for about the last six months after I bumped it to the alpha group. I am not certain if this is something that happened on one of the updates or if it’s a known Xbox issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Xbox one isn't xbox one s or x compatible they are all compatible it's only the x that has some enhancements but generally the game will download on any xbox one

    Series x is just xbox series s or x

    Not xbox one s

    NO! Unlike some games that have an Xbox One version that will upgrade to the the S|X version if you put it in a series X, NBA2K for S|X is a complete different version than the Xbox One version and it will not work if you put the disc inside of an Xbox One. Xbox One cannon run a Series X game and putting a Series X disc inside an X1 will not install the X1 version.

    Yes. Some games are exclusive on Series X and it appears on the Xbox One store.

    Yes, some multiplayer games on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S can cross play with the PS5.
