    Xbox Series S/X audio over USB


    I have several headphones with a microphone with USB, quite top models,
    e.g. Logitech G432 with Dolby DTX

    When the XBOX learns such devices, it is very frustrating,
    even the old PS3 can handle it without a problem.

    Will XBox Series X support external DAC/Amp hardware via USB?

    There are multiple articles stating audio compatibility via USB. If optical is necessary, there are various HDMI to optical devices available which you may need to add.

    GooD Tips: The headset USB kit can be connected to the TV,
    most new TVs support this function, but the microphone does not work :(

    So it's a half and half approach...

    Microsoft is a huge corporation, one audio driver prepared for Windows (and signed) would probably handle a million headsets.

    There is also no list of compatible kits...

    My setup is claimed to be Xbox compatible - however it doesn't work with Xbox (USB not work, audio jack has no port).

    Well different drivers and different subsystems

    Windows has a HAL just like xbox

    But it's the third parties that provide the driver

    Xbox has a HAL security layer also but only xbox has the drivers

    Hence the approval needed via compatible with xbox program

    Xbox closed sandbox

    Windows open to a certain degree as long as you don't violate the security protocols

    With ps3-5as proven with the recent news it makes it vulnerable to attacks. Ps5 has been hacked thru the ps4 bc layer

    Sony would have to include a basic driver not custom drivers
