Xbox Series S Unplugging

Hello, MasonHarrell99. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

It should not do any damage to your console, rest assured.

Feel free to ask back any questions.

the worse that could happen is if the unit is downloading a game update and the power cuts, you may end up having to reinstall the game.

Hi NatashaPeckford! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

If you r fan isn't working properly the console will turn off for overheating or you will hear loud sounds that are not present during a normal conditions

Yes the console can be damaged if you unplugged while is being used

That's what I am done, put my series s on energy saving and then select full shutdown after that I hear noises on the left side of series s and it won't stop noising unless I unplug it

You should be able to do that, yes:

"Power down your Xbox One.

1. Unplug the external drive.

2. Connect the external drive to your Xbox Series X, S.

3. Power on your Xbox Series X, S.

4. Wait for the external drive to be detected. This may take a couple of minutes.

5. When the drive is detected, you are free to copy any games you want onto the Xbox Series X, S internal storage."
