Xbox series S restarting by itself mid game or after turning it on

1. Power Cycle and Clear Persistent Storage:
- First, hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until the console shuts off.
- Unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn on the Xbox.

2. Close all the games that are running the back by highlighting the game then press Menu button, select Quit

3. Change the console settings so it doesn't turn off automatically:
- Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.
- Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.
- Under Options, select Turn off after, and then select Don’t turn off automatically.

I have the same in xbox series S, only in dashboard / standby / turning on / restart, but not when gaming.

Sometimes, certain USB hubs or accessories can send signals to the console, causing it to power on. This can happen due to voltage spikes or other electrical anomalies.

If the keyboard or mouse sends any input (e.g., a key press or mouse movement), it could wake the console from its sleep state.

Similarly, the headset dongle might be causing interference or sending signals that the Xbox interprets as a power-on command.

Try unplugging the multiport USB accessory and the connected devices to see if the issue persists. If the Xbox stays off, you might need to test each device individually to identify the culprit.

Power Settings:

The Xbox Series S has an Instant-On mode, which allows for quick startup but can also cause the console to turn on automatically for updates or other reasons.

Switching to Energy-Saving mode may prevent the console from turning on automatically, as this mode fully powers down the console.

Go to Settings > General > Power mode & startup, and switch from Instant-On to Energy-Saving mode to see if this resolves the issue.

Automatic Updates:

The Xbox Series S might be turning on to download and install system updates.
Similar to system updates, the console might power on to download game updates.

Check the settings under System > Updates & downloads and disable automatic updates temporarily to see if the auto power-on stops.

If your Xbox is connected to a TV with HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) enabled, the TV might be sending signals that cause the Xbox to turn on.

Same here! Xbox Series X, random frozen screen, Xbox still alive but game itself is gone. Restart of game needed.

Happens mostly right after I died and this zooming in scene is starting.
