Xbox series S Power Off help

Have had this series s since November and the power settings is instant on. I never changed it to power saving.

Anyway, everytime i am done playing i just hold the xbox button on controller and turn off console. The console is connected to a professional grade apc UPS since the power here is dodgy and every night i turn off the ups. That in turn turns off everything connected to it.

Now i am learning from the internet is that with instant on mode the xbox just goes to sleep mode and doesn't actually fully turn off and me removing power from it makes it shutdown forcefully and may damage the console.

But everytime i turn the ups back on and turn on the console i get into the home page instantly instead of seeing the xbox logo like i should if it fully shut it down.

So what's going on here?

Am i damaging the xbox?

Should i enable power saving?

Should i full shutdown before removing power?

At times i play for an hour or so and then just leave for work or something and the console just goes to sleep and when i come back i immediately start from where i left off.

If i enable power saving, will the console go to autosleep or will it auto shutdown fully and i will cold boot everytime?

Please help. Don't really want my console to die��. I frickin love this thing.

So can you explain what is actually happening when i remove power while it's on standby mode?

Like if it is just like sleep mode on a pc, then removing power should shut it down forcefully and it should cold start next time it is plugged back in.

But that's not what's happening. I always leave the xbox unplugged overnight and yet when i turn it back on in the morning, i get the instant on and most games just auto resume.

Yes my ups has a battery and it there for the uninterrupted power but when i turn off the ups, it cuts off power from everything that's connected to it.

Also I've unplugged the xbox before and still after plugging in and powering on after couple of hours it still turns on instantly without going into cold boot.

And just now i was checking the energy save mode and found that the console doesn't just fully turn off if energy saving mode is on. It takes about 5minutes to turn off fully.

So for me i think standby is fine and i can just fully shutdown console before removing power if removing power while on standby is actually hurting the xbox.

Yeah, energy save doesn't shut down the console immediately, this is in case you want to power it on again due to you forgot to do something

But just to make it simple, to avoid future inconveniences, if you prefer disconnect your UPS on nights, then use instead energy save

If you want instant mode, don't disconnect the UPS

There is no risk of damaging the console by turning off the power in standby mode. The only thing that you risk is potentially if you had a game suspended that you will have to restart it

If it is downloading something that download can be corrupted however. But again you just have to delete it and start over

First, will be good double check if your UPS supports or have a battery inside. Some UPS has a reserve battery, so it can be the reason that why your Xbox instantly turns on

Also, if you don't need instant power on, and you prefer always turn off your UPS in the night, the best option will be enable power saving on your console

Due to instant mode requires that your console is be always connected to a power source
