Xbox Series S not loading friendslist and messages

I recently upgraded to the Xbox Series S from my old Xbox one, the Xbox Series S has been great for running games and the load times have been awesome but something weird has been happening every since upgrading, when I go look at friends list it'll show friends online that really are not online it'll show them playing games they have not played in a long time it'll also show people offline when they are online at times it has become very annoying because I like playing with friends and not knowing when they are online or offline is a bit of an issue, another thing is although it loads games really fast for some reason messages don't it'll tell me a got a message but won't' load the message for minutes at a time which becomes annoying when trying to communicate with someone in a timely manner this also effects how I interact with groups I really like the group system in place that allows me to connect with people who also want to find people to play games with its one of the reason I choose to play on an Xbox but when my messages don't get sent when I send them or when their messages don't load it makes it difficult. some other things are captures saying clips have been recorded but then when i get to look at the capture it isn't there, and the xbox can't load the pictures of games only the name appears when I go to load a game and sometimes it also tells me to free space up for games when I have enough space for these games already these are issues I did not have on my old Xbox one and there are no issues with my internet connection. How do I fix this?

This could mean that the console needs a refresh. To do so, we recommend accessing Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

To solve these problems you can try the solutions below.

Solution 1:

You can also hard reset the Xbox console and its cache. Here is how to do so:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Solution 2:

Go to console settings under general tab select, network and internet settings>select advanced settings option and then click alternative mac address, tap clean and restart your console.

*If the above solutions do not resolve this issue, you can try resetting your console to factory defaults, choosing to keep your games and applications.

Solution 3:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Oh. I like the new Favorites feature in the friendslist. It'd be cool if it's eventually planted in the 360's friendslist too.
