Xbox Series S, No controller, No HDMI, powers itself off.

I have an Xbox Series S, and recently it began having a severe issue making the console completely unusable.

I connect the power cable to the wall, and a good confirmed working HDMI cable to the back, make sure both cables are all the way into the console, and press the power button.

The Xbox light on the console lights up, Monitor says no input found, then I attempt to turn on my controller, no connection from the controller, i try to pair it, nothing, fails to connect every time. After about a minute or two of scratching my head, the console turns off.

I've tried to do any form of reset but every time, the only thing that seems to work on the console, is the light and sound with the power button.

Nothing else appears to be functional. I don't leave the console on, and regardless it stays in a well cooled spot, but for some reason, it just stopped working completely when I tried to bring it to a friends house in my car.

I know it wasn't banged around as it was in a cushioned bag with my laptop, and my laptop is in perfect condition, but now the Xbox is non functional, even when I brought it home and plugged it back in how I had it originally.

    :)

Hello Callidus F! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Series S. Sounds like you have already done a lot of triage to get it working. Have you tried forcing it into Low Res Mode to see if that works? I have put the procedure below.

Press and hold the Power button and the Pair button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You'll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start-up in low resolution mode (the Xbox start-up screen will appear slightly pixelated).

If that doesn't work, sounds like the console needs a service.

Xbox one won't turn on my insiginia tv when I turn the console on

Hi TexasMaster9351! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

HDMI-CEC is supported only on Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. You must also enable HDMI-CEC on your TV.

Xbox Series X|S consoles can use an HDMI feature called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to send commands to and from CEC-enabled devices (such as TVs and AVRs) that are connected to the console.

This feature can be turned on and off via the TV & A/V power options settings screen. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Sleep mode & startup > TV & A/V power options.

Xbox Series X - I can no longer turn off hdmi audio since installing the september update

I have almost the same problem except the error message says

“if you’re using Xbox series X/S, note that HDMI audio can’t be turned off. In other consoles, either optical or HDMI audio must be on. (0x80bd0009)

Why can’t I turn off hdmi audio on Xbox series x it makes no sense?

XB1 is turned on, but my TV says "no signal"

I have the same issue. I had the machine powered off over the weekend. On turning on this evening TV has no signal. The machine does 'turn on' in that the white X light comes on but nothing on screen. The machine itself seems to emit a pulsed series of low
noises for a couple of minutes before just stopping. Power brick is white. The controllers start the machine but keep flashing until they timeout and go dark. Can any one help. I have tried alternative HDMI cable. Different HDMI ports. Power down until brick
    goes out. Anyone?

    Connecting headset

The headset should work on an Xbox One controller and Xbox Series S/X controllers.

Turn off the controller by holding the Xbox button on the controller until the controller turns off and unplug the headset.

On your console press and hold the Xbox console button until the console turns off, remove the power cord from the console, and wait 1 minute.

Plug the power cord into your console again, turn on the console with your controller, and when you see your console's dashboard connect the headset to the controller and see if that solves the problem.
