  1. XBOX Series S Manual Resolution Problem

Hi guys, I have a series S and I am using it with an old TV. Some games are overflowing from my TV screen so I tried a couple things to fix it.

First, I tried to change screen settings from my TV. Since it is kindda old it didn't fit perfectly. The thing which I need is a manual resolution or a manual screen width and length option in XBOX. Some games have the settings to adjust screen borders but most do not have that. So can anyone from microsoft make this manual width and length setting possible? Pls.

    :)

XBOX Series S Manual Resolution Problem

That's a real bummer. No doubt.

Keep in mind that black friday is coming up fast. Some vendors are already having some good pre-black friday sales. I'd be very surprised if you couldn't pick up a nice little 1080p tv for $100 over the next few weeks. Heck, maybe even a 4k for just a little more. Just make sure whatever you might buy has at least a 60hz native refresh rate and a low (sub 5 optimally) response time.

Good luck. I feel for you. That's a real bummer.

XBOX Series S Manual Resolution Problem

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. It's a good suggestion, but I don't think it would be possible to make it real, given the problems that would be caused by it, as you may know, the resolutions supported by the Xbox series s/x are 720p/1080p/1440p/2160p.

Resolutions lower than this can present problems like this.

I suggest you read the article provided by the member above.

*Thank you in advance for contacting, I hope this can help you.

I’m trying to connect my Xbox series s with an HP w2408h monitor

Hi, Andy my name is Oskayra, and will be a pleasure help you

The issue you're encountering is likely due to a compatibility issue between the native resolution of your Xbox Series S and the maximum resolution supported by your HP w2408h monitor.

The Xbox Series S outputs a native resolution of 1920x1080, which is slightly different from the maximum resolution of 1920x1200 supported by your monitor. This mismatch is causing your monitor to display an "input signal out of range" message.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to adjust the output resolution of your Xbox Series S to match the native resolution of your monitor, which is 1920x1080. Here's how to do it:

On your Xbox Series S, navigate to Settings > General > TV & Audio > Video modes.

Under "Resolution," select "1920x1080" from the available options.

Once you've selected the desired resolution, restart your Xbox Series S.

After restarting, your Xbox Series S should output a resolution that is compatible with your HP w2408h monitor, and the "input signal out of range" message should no longer appear.

If you're still having trouble, you can try the following additional steps:

Ensure that your HDMI cable is properly connected to both your Xbox Series S and your monitor.

Try using a different HDMI cable if the one you're using is old or damaged.

Check for any firmware updates for your monitor.

I really hope your problem has been fixed with my help,if this works let me know and have a nice day. Oskayra

can i play fortnite on my xbox series s at 120 fps and 1440p?

    Hello Alexis Lamothe,

Thank you for your contribution to the Microsoft community.

We totally understand that you want to play Fortnite on higher FPS and resolution. However. the Xbox Series S does not support 1440p resolution at 120fps for Fortnite. The maximum resolution supported by the Xbox Series S is 1080p at 120fps. However, you can still enjoy playing Fortnite on your Xbox Series S at 1080p and 120fps.

    Hope I helped!
