    hi it happened to me twice i had a first controller that came with the console and one day it stoped working and i had to buy another one and.e this moring i was playing apex and i took a brake for like 20 minutes and when i took my controller it was not working just like the first one i got from microsoft and the thing is that for both of them the same thing happened they was smelling it burnt can i please get some help pleaese. do i have to spend 80 dollars on another controller

    The controllers doesn't turn on at all now?
    If that's the case... What batteries are you using? Did you used the same pair when the new controller arrived?
    Or did you always used the controllers wired?

    im on firmware 5.11.3118.0 for xboxc series S controller - latest, been on for weeks, before the problems with constantly disconnecting & reconnecting to the console after the latest console update about 2 weeks ago.

    tried the controller firmware rollback via xbox assist, when you check the firmware it just says something went wrong - its on the latest firmware.......

    it started 2 days ago.

    it's weird how It'll be fine until I'm 30 minutes into playing a game.

    so the weird noises the other players notice is the controller on vibration, which causes the headset to make noises. Turn off the vibration to controller and they shouldn't hear it anymore. you should notice it when you are getting shot at or jumping.
