I was moving stuff around my room and decided to unplug my Xbox series S, once I was done and plugged everything back in, the colors on my Xbox started to look really bright and and a little blurry. I tried switching HDMIs but nothing seems to work. I already tried on a different TV and it looks perfectly fine, this wasn't Happening before I went to bed last night. Thank you for the help

    :)

Xbox One S - Weird Colors

    Hi Jocelyn Chassie

Thanks for reporting this issue in Microsoft Answers.

I understand that you are having trouble with abnormal colors when connecting your Xbox One S to your TV, and I understand your confusion.

You can try the following steps to resolve the color issue:

    1. Turn off the YCC 4:2:2 option in the video settings, as this might resolve the color problem.
    2. Set the color depth to 24 bits (default). Higher settings might cause color issues. Go to Xbox settings > General > TV & display options > Video fidelity & overscan.
    3. Ensure your TV supports HDR and that HDR is correctly enabled/disabled in both the TV and Xbox settings.
    4. Try using a different HDMI cable, as low-quality or damaged HDMI cables can cause color issues.
    5. Make sure your TV and Xbox firmware are both up to date.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Black screen then weird pixelated colors

    Check your AV cable

    Turn off your console.

Unplug your AV cable from the back of your console, and then plug it back in again.

Turn your console on and check for the display problem.

If the problem still happens, make sure you’re using the correct AV cable and console display settings.

Try to change the screen resolution

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

    Select Console Settings.

    Select Display.

    Select HDTV Settings.

Select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV or monitor.

    Try to improve color quality

Many HDTVs display better color if more color information is provided. The Xbox 360 console can send additional color data to your HDTV to optimize your picture.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

    Select Console Settings.

    Select Display.

    Select Reference Levels.

Select the option that works best for your TV or monitor.

please guide me what is the best monitor xbox series S . its possible for 4k ? give me best advice before buying gaming monitor for my xbox series S. thanks

The Xbox Series S is NOT capable of 4K resolution, it is capped at 1440 so you may not need to consider purchasing a 4K monitor for the best visual experience. But there are many options available, so it's important to consider your budget and what features are most important to you.

Here are a few things to consider when looking for a 4K monitor for your Xbox Series S:

    1. Refresh rate: A high refresh rate will help reduce motion blur and make the gameplay feel more smooth. Look for a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 60Hz, but higher is better.
    2. Response time: A lower response time means that pixels will change color faster, resulting in less ghosting or blurring in fast-paced games. Aim for a response time of 5ms or less.
    3. Panel type: There are several different types of panels used in monitors, and each has its own pros and cons. IPS panels offer wide viewing angles and good color accuracy, but may have slower response times. VA panels have good contrast and color accuracy, but may have limited viewing angles. TN panels have the fastest response times, but may have lower color accuracy and limited viewing angles.
    4. Connectivity: Make sure the monitor has the right ports to connect to your Xbox Series S. The Xbox Series S has an HDMI 2.1 port, so look for a monitor with an HDMI 2.1 port or an HDMI 2.0 port that is compatible with HDMI 2.1.
    5. Price: 4K monitors can range in price from under $200 to over $1,000, so consider your budget and how much you are willing to spend.
Some good options for 4K monitors for the Xbox Series S include the Acer Predator X27, the LG 27UK850-W, and the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ.
