    Xbox Series One Elite Controller not connecting to Xbox S console or PC


    Hello there,

    My Xbox Elite controller(series one) can no longer pair with my Xbox S console.

    So far I've attempted the following

    1. Reset my console (Power cycle, system reset etc...)

    2. Connect to controller via USB cable, it works for 2 minutes, then it requests for an update, and when going into the setting, it says controller not found

    3. Connect the control to the PC to update the controller, the xbox accessory app can not pick up on the controller (PC and app both up to date, window 10)

    What controller you use?

    Xbox Elite Controller Series 1 and a Xbox One S Controller.

    The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

    Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

    Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

    Hi Neecko92,

    Seems like the only workaround now is to connect your Elite controller to a Xbox One console, and update your Elite controller via the Xbox One console. Then it will work on your PC again.

    Have you by any chance attempted to connect the controller directly to the PC through a wired connection?

    As well, you have mentioned that the controller that came with the Xbox One console is recognized on the PC, but that the elite controller is not recognized at all on the PC. This same elite controller, does it have any issues with connecting to the Xbox
    One console?
