Xbox Series Controller won't stay on while plugged in via USB-C.

Yep you do know why right ?

Series x controllers are usb type c

If you try and use a xbox series plug and play kit you won't have a controller left or you won't have a working cord

Xbox one and ps4 used usb 2.0 not type c

I bought my Xbox series x brand new from amazon and it was £500. I might try a solution though to see if I can fix it. It was working perfectly fine when I was playing with my controller with battires. Then I played with it via usb c and plugged the usb cable in to the console. It was still fine. But when I plugged in a nintendo usb c and put the plug in the wall that is when it started restarting. So I think if I play usb it won't restart anymore and if it does I will try to return it. Thank you for all your help.

Hi AJStrucel! The Series 2 controller has a built-in battery pack and the charging port on the top of the controller is of the USB-C type. It also comes with a charging dock that plugs via the USB-C cable to your Xbox or PC on top of which you rest the controller.
The charging port on the dock lines up with holes on the back of the controller just below where the batteries of a normal controller are located.

the plug n play charge battery is the same for both, it is the charging cable that is different. the series x version comes with a USB C cable and the standard xbox one comes with a micro usb cable.

i couldnt get the usb c version for my series controller so i just bought the xbox one version and use a third party usb c cable for charging.

use the plug n play charge kit, plug into any usb port for it to charge, done. i bought the series controller for pc, but couldnt get the usb c charging kit, so i got the original xbox one plug n play and use a spare usb c cable i have, works a charm.

no xbox required.
