Xbox series controller not recognized on PC using USB C connection

Hi there!

One day, all of the sudden, my Xbox Series controller stopped working on my pc. I only used it with a USB C connection, as my motherboard doesn't have bluetooth and I don't have a wireless adapter.

I went to a friend's and the controller worked fine on his Xbox Series X. I tried updating the firmware there, and went home and it didn't work.

Using the Xbox accesories app from MS Store doesn't work, as the controller doesn't appear.

The controller's controller doesn't work at all, and my controller doesn't appear anywhere on my pc.

Please advise!

I tried with a different USB C cable in all my USB ports, front and rear, and it still didn't work.

Please try using a different USB-C as usually this happens when the current one fails, another option will be to change the USB port used for the controller.

Thanks! But I just updated Windows yesterday for the sole purpose of making the controller work, it's up to date. I tried uninstalling the device and restarting, but every time it displays the same error: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). When I try to solve it using the problem solving tool, it says it couldn't find a solution.

Ok, that means it's not being recognized, so probably you need a update from windows or like i mentioned the USB it's not working properly, could be instead of the cable the ports, you could try uninstalling the device if allowed and then restart the PC
