    Xbox seires s 120hz not working


    Whenever I’m on my xbox series s, I have to play 60hz. My monitor is a Msi G272. 1080p 144hz. But for some reason whenever i switch my xbox to 120hz, my screens will either be fine then start flickering and the. slowly get worst or it’s just straight up all black with a little bit of the screen on the top. I tried different hdmi cords, I tried an adapter so i can use display port but it just doesn’t work.

    yea so my monitor is the problem. I tested it on another monitor that supports 120hz on xbox. It worked fine, same with 4k.

    I tried switching to 720p then 120hz and it does the same thing. I can try another monitor or tv later and let you know what happens.

    Hi Joe, sorry to hear that :c

    In this case you may need to work with the manufacturer to see if something's happening with the monitor or if you can return it. Do it and get a different model

    Can you try using 720p to see if the issue persists once you select 120Hz?
    Also, display port isn't compatible with Xbox consoles, only HDMI

    And, please try testing the console with a different screen / TV that supports 120Hz, that helps to isolate the problem a bit more
