    Xbox screen is black except for the boot screen and the turn off/restart screen :(


    When my original Xbox boots I see the opening green screen and then finally it's black and nothing. When I hold down the guide button, I see the turn off the controller, turn off Xbox or restart. I can't see anything else. It started after it got stuck doing a system update and has been like this ever since. I was going to do an offline system update but I can't see which build it is so I don't know should I use OSU2 or OUS3. It's my original Xbox because the HDMI on my Xbox one x died Xbox screen is black except for the boot screen and the turn off/restart screen :( :(

    You can also try doing an offline system update by downloading the OSU File here.

    Use the OSU1 file.

    Once you download the Offline System Update File onto your PC, you can see it as a a zip file so you'll have to unzip onto a USB that's at least 8GB and formatted to NTFS. Once it's all downloaded plug the USB into your Xbox, the offline system update will be enabled.

    If your console is not on stand by it takes longer to boot up. It will show the green screen with the loading dots and then go to a black screen for a minute then show the xbox logo. Are you turning it off on the black screen before the logo appears? If
    you can turn it on then quickly hold the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug it for 30 seconds from the outlet then plug back in and try powering back on again. Hopefully it will be able to boot up no problem.

    The power button on my Xbox started flashing when it got to the startup screen after that the screen turned black and it booted up normally
