Xbox S Remote won't hold charge

Xbox S remote won't retain battery even after charging for hours but work fine when plugged in. I tried different chargers/plugs and it needs no updates. I sent it into Microsoft to check for repairs but it was returned to me the same as I sent it. Please tell me what I can do to make it charge. Thanks!

Ailsa, the Xbox One S controllers do not have an internal rechargeable battery, but use AA batteries, so I must ask you, which battery are you using for this controller?

Hiya, I'm going to assume that you mean you registered the xbox one s for a warranty plan, if remotes are included in the plan then you must register them also.

if you mean register the remotes to the console either wire them directly to the system or hold the link button on both the console and remote (while both devices are on)

I wouldn't by third party play and charge kits or anything from china off ebay because they won't hold a charge very long but the xbox ones last a long time.

won't lie, I'm a little confused. I went to download it via my computer to my xbox and it asks for a payment option. Holding off until I know for sure it won't charge.

I'm experiencing the same thing. This didn't break for me until I updated my Xbox S console. The media remote lights up when you touch/move it, so I know it works -- and the Xbox Controller works - but the remote won't work with the console. Again, this
happened during the most recent Xbox update.
