Xbox s controller fault

I brought my son a Xbox series s in June last year, the controller is broken and drifts/moves character’s by itself. For such an expensive item this is really poor it has not been excessively used as we monitor screen time.

Can this be repaired or replaced under warranty?

I´m preety sure it´s not the cable´s fault because i can use the controller perfectly in my xbox

depends which country you are in, most countries have a 12 month warranty on peripherals. stick drift is a common issue with most systems not just xbox.

my fault its the XBOX ONE S if thats makes any difference.

If i ll reset the controller and not sync it as you mention, the wifi of the controller will still be on searching to connect on the console?

Controllers come with a limited 90 day warranty so you may be able to exchange or repair it. If you've exhausted all other troubleshooting options (which it seems like you have) I would go that route
