Xbox S Controller Disconnects, Even After Replacement

I recently purchased an XBOX S and since day 1 it has had issues disconnecting the wireless controller intermittently.

I followed all of the troubleshooting including updating firmware for xbox and controller, power cycling both, re-pairing the connection, to no avail. Because I could not get it to work, I decided to just buy a new controller and this new controller had the same issue.

So I decided to return my Xbox and purchase a new one. I got the new Xbox with a new controller and now still have the SAME issue. So controller disconnects on 2 separate Xbox's and 3 controllers. I'm totally baffled at this point tbh. Is there some other type of interference in the room that could contribute? I'm sitting 5 feet from the Xbox.

Since you already tried two consoles and three controllers, It may be safe to assume this could be caused by something in your environment. If you don't mind, please answer the following questions:

- For clarity, is this an Xbox One S or an Xbox Series S?

- Have you already checked if your controller disconnects even when plugged in

via USB cable?

- Do you have any external devices plugged into your console's USB ports?

- Are you using a headset? if you are, please let me know which one.

- Have you already tried logging into your router's settings page and trying different WiFi channels? if you haven't yet, please give it a try.

replaced 2 controllers replaced xbox still disconnects also occasionally now locks up after disconnecting have to remove battery. I can't use headset it causes disconnects more frequently

I 've put up with this for over a year it's about time [Mod Removed] listened

To anyone new to this thread and haven't already, please check out my previous troubleshooting posts here and here. We also recommend using your wireless controller connected with a micro-USB cable to the Xbox One console to help with the controller's connectivity

Sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble with your Xbox controllers.

There are several reasons that could be causing the controller to disconnect. If the controller is idle, it will automatically disconnect after 15 minutes.

The most common issue may be additional wireless interference. You can reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAt_P8PFl38 to help troubleshoot, even though the video is a little older.

If nothing resolves your issue, your controller may need to be replaced.
