Xbox Remote Play super blurry / unusable with MacBook Pro 13 2020 using Bootcamp

Hi community,

I have a super strange issue with my Intel based MacBook Pro 13 2020 using Xbox Remote Play and also Cloud play.

I have installed Windows 11 on my Macbook using Bootcamp - tried to use Xbox Remote Play - result was super blurry and really unusable. Same for Cloud Play using the Xbox app. I f I use the Microsoft Edge browser the performance is bad and still unusable, but not so bad like the Xbox app.

Okay switched back to macOS. There, Cloud play is working fine in Microsoft Edge browser - on the same device. Xbox app is unfortunately not available for macOS.

Funnily I discovered today, that virtualization software like Parallels can run Windows from Bootcamp. Therefore, the same Windows like before running in a VM under macOS. Okay tried Xbox Remote Play again and its not blurry anymore - except a horrible lag its "usable" (like having 15fps...) but it's the best result I get with Windows.

What I'm doing wrong that the native Windows version is running so badly?

Drivers are all up-to-date....

A Mac is not a PC, even if it is in theory running Windows

Windows is not designed to run on Apple hardware, whether third party software enables that is another matter. If you need tech support you should contact Bootcamp, as they know how their software interacts with the hardware and Windows

It could be making calls to subsystems that are not translated by Bootcamp to enable low latency. In addition, integrated graphics typically for example would not contain decompression accelerators that a dedicated graphics card might.

All of these can contribute to the symptoms you're seeing

It's a Mac with integrated graphic card an Intel Iris Pro, using the lastest driver available on intel homepage.

Games like AoE IV are running fine on the device - so I guess the driver is fine.

The issue is reproducible on Windows 10 and Windows 11, tested at first with Windows 10, then moved to Windows 11 (with deactivated TPM, since it's not usable for Windows on Mac devices)...

Could be an issue with the graphics card driver used by Apple when you install the Bootcamp drivers utility.

Sadly a Mac with windows doesn't work the same like when you're using macOS on it.

Your Mac has both integrated/discrete and dedicated GPUs? or only an integrated/dedicated card?

Also, are you on Windows 10 or 11?

It really wont work on any operating system other than windows 10. The windows 10 app is the only legitimate way to stream your xbox to play on the move. Personally i use a macbook with windows 10 bootcamped on it, native support for the controller is good,
as is the ability to use game sound/ party chat through the macbook

I'm in bootcamp on a Macbook pro 2019. 64GB ram, i9-9980HK cpu, dedicated graphics card, etc. I'll get a few minutes into flight and flight sim crashes out my entire computer. Completely unplayable.

I really hope this gets fixed
