    What an absolute disgrace.

    Microsoft has officially killed Xbox Remote Play on mobile apps — one of the few genuinely pro-consumer features they had left — and replaced it with a sluggish, broken web version that barely works. Remote Play was the lifeline for many of us who believed in the Xbox ecosystem. And now, it’s nothing but a bad joke.

    Let’s be honest: this isn’t about innovation or “consolidating services.” This is a blatant anti-consumer move designed to cripple existing convenience and funnel us toward their upcoming handheld device. They’re not even trying to hide it.

    To make things worse? Cloud gaming still isn’t officially supported in most of the Middle East and other regions. So now we’re left with neither proper Remote Play nor access to xCloud. A double slap in the face.

    It’s laughable. It’s insulting. It’s sad.

    I was actually considering buying their new handheld. I’ve been a Game Pass subscriber. I’ve supported Xbox for years. But after this dirty move, I’m done. No more hardware. No more subscriptions. No more loyalty.

    Microsoft doesn’t value its most dedicated users — especially those outside their “priority” markets. Instead, they remove features, restrict access, and pretend it’s “progress.”

    Well, I won’t be part of this mockery any longer.

    Xbox has lost my trust, my money, and my voice — and I’ll make damn sure everyone I know hears why.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with Remote play.

    Your Xbox may not be in "Sleep" mode, which is necessary for remote play capabilities, or you may not have enabled the remote features in your console settings if "remote play" is not available. Check your console settings under "Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features" to ensure it's enabled

    Lack of Remote Play Feature?

    The idea of remote play for the Xbox One is a very tempting thing, however Microsoft would be best to leave it alone.

    The PS4 has remote play because Sony also make the Vita (something Microsoft currently doesnt do) so Sony can optimise the software perfectly between two known systems.

    On the Microsoft side though what system should they use? perhaps their series of tablets? but then people will no doubt complain "why isnt my device supported?" and then you also have the problem of controller support. You could theoretically plug in your
    Xbox One controler into the Microsoft tablet using USb, but that just means more gadgets to carry around.

    perhaps use those software joysticks then like smart phones do? nope, those are terrible.

    Why won't Backward compatible games play remotely?

    I've been trying to find answers to this, because up until this point, I HAVE been playing back-compat games on my Xbox through remote play on my PC. I was surprised when I finally tried remote play on my phone that games I've been playing remotely on PC for a while now didn't work! In fact, every game I've tried via PC so far has worked. Thought something was wrong with the setup on my phone, but I guess they just aren't supported on mobile for some reason.
