Xbox Remote Play Freezing

Hi,

I have a Series X and I’m getting an issue where remote play runs fine initially but after a while randomly freezes. I can tell from controller inputs/sounds that only the video stream has frozen - the game and audio is still working.

When this happens if I turn on my tv and Xbox directly, I get a black screen but again have sound and can hear my inputs having effects. The only way I can fix this is by switching iff the mains power and then back on again.

Therefore it seems to an issue with the Xbox itself rather than the device being streamed too - I use cloud gaming on the same device with no issues.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

Yes, I can confirm it is just me playing remotely when the video stream freezes.

This also causes the video stream to the local tv that the Xbox is plugged into, to break. I only try this after the remote play stream has cut out, not at the same time. After remotely freezes, the only way to use the Xbox again is to turn the main power on and off again.

Only one person at a time can play remotely, even if others are set to connect remotely or locally. Microsoft Store and in-game purchases, as well as backward compatibility, are disabled during remote play with Xbox mobile apps.

That's not a known issue for remote play. What console do you have and what is your internet connection speed?
