There is already an app for MacOS and iOS called
OneCast. You can download it from the iTunes Store, and allows you to stream your Xbox One to your iOS or Mac device.

IOS apps still have to be ported for the mac os m1

You can run iOS apps on Mac os intel

M1 is not the same as an Intel cpu ior the iPhone ir iPad cpus iOS apps ARENT fully compatibility with the mac os cocoa is a case by case basis if cocoa can't fully runs the libraries the games /app runs you still need the app maker

2 xbox is direct competition to Apple and their game services to bypass apples store for games

And fyi pc service only just came out of beta to public

Yup, remote play from any network outside of the network the Xbox is on is currently broken on iOS 16 and has been since iOS 16 beta's initial release.

The steps listed by Dérek will have no effect, as this is a bug in the Xbox app on iOS 16, not an issue with the Xbox or NAT configuration, as evidenced by the fact that Android, iOS 15 and below, and Windows devices will be able to remote play from the same Xbox out of network, but iOS 16 fails for those impacted.

Microsoft has yet to formally acknowledge this in any known issues listings. The best we can hope for is that a fix goes in at some point, versus them continuing to sweep it under the rug.

I'm having the exact same issue.

iOS Xbox app works fine with remote play.

Brand new Windows 10 PC causes the error.
