Xbox Remote Play - Directional buttons don't work?

Start a remote play session on my phone, but playing on Xbox with the controller.

For this I used an iPhone recording screen, a Series S and playing a Halo infinite match and Forza Horizon 5 (in case you have the same setup, if not. don't worry)

The experience was good, no problems at all with the controller in terms of directions/sticks or buttons not working as expected.

Are you able to use a different wifi network?

For example, sharing temporarily mobile data via wifi hotspot and connect your console in that way.

Also, try disabling remote features. Restart your Xbox and enable remote features again and give it a new try

My Harmony remote partially stopped working within certain apps, like Netflix and Amazon. I say partially, because I think it is just the lack of directional buttons. The colored buttons, FF and REW all seem to work. But I use the remote to move around
the apps to pick a show or movie to watch.

I have the same problem, but in my case, it is the Logitech Harmony remote that cannot control either the Netflix or YouTube apps. Apparently, it is IR based remotes that don't work. Here is what I have found out:

1. In may case, the problem applies to a Logitech Harmony Smart Control remote, but from forums, I have seen similar reports regarding other IR based remotes.

2. So far, I have observed the problem on the YouTube and Netflix apps.

3. Play, pause and directional buttons do not work.

4. The Home button works so I can get to the Home screen from these apps using the remote.

5. If I turn on the Xbox One controller, the remote appears to work as expected, but when the controller automatically turns itself off, the remote stops working.

6. I have uninstalled both apps, restarted the Xbox and reinstalled the apps. The problem remains.

map your number keys on the remote to be specifically the directional pad of your TiVo. so when you are watching tivo through xbox one using play, ff, pause, etc will work just fine because xbox will command tivo. map the number 2 as direction up 5 as "select"
and so on. i have found it easy and natural. i put the tivo button "TiVo" on the touch screen. so i tap that then use my num pad as direction pad and select for tivo.

do this by using the "customize button" section of the activity you use for xbox one

I just got the xbox one IR remote and can confirm the menu and pop up menu buttons on the remote still do not work!! What a waste of money this remote was, these buttons work on the connected glass app on my iPad but not on the remote, unacceptable...
