  1. Xbox Remote Does not control TV power or vilume

I picked up an Xbox remote to control my Xbox and tv. It controls the Xbox perfectly.

Also have plugged in the IR transmitters. The Xbox says it “knows how to control tv” when setting up device control. However, it does not work. The IR transmitters lights blink when I hit volume buttons but does not change the volume or power off.

I have tried to manually enter every tv code for a philips conceivable with no luck.

I have tried to find my TV. There are very similar models but none work.

I have. philips 4K smart tv purchased this year. I would I think it would be very compatible?

    Mode number is 55PFL5602/F7 A

At the moment Xbox gives me the automatic code T1887.

Any help would be much appreciated. We have switched everything over to WiFi based and want to use one remote to control our Home media.

    :)

Question about upcoming Xbox one remote

From the Microsoft post today about the remote...

"The Media Remote can also control TV/Receiver power and volume through Kinect"

So it look like it does control the Xbox via the infrared receivers on the Kinect.

Hey there Three! Just to confirm, you have the newly redesigned black remote, correct? With regards to the TV, does the remote do both power and volume for the device? With regards to your Xbox console, does it not do anything to control your console, or
will it do some controls? Do you have a direct line-of-sight between the remote and the console, or is the console obstructed (ex. in a cabinet, etc)? Let me know, thanks!

Xbox On/ Xbox Turn Off does not power on off the television

Same issue, different tv. What's weird is that the universal code on Xbox matches my dish network universal remote. Despite the codes matching, only the dish remote works for powering on the tv but the Kinect does not. The Kinect only does volume control
on the tv which suggests the ir blaster is hitting the sensor.

My thinking is that Kinect needs to be simulating a longer duration press for powering on and off the television??? Dunno but it would be nice to see this issue addressed for off brand tvs which many of us have.

    The TV is a Hiteker 50" TL50Z

The code is T2051 on both dish remote and Kinect

Media remote cannot operate volume on Emerson tv.

I encourage you to read the original post and you will find that that is not the case as documented by xbox support as well as the explanation of the functioning of the remote control. The way the xbox controls the tv as far as volume control and powering
on and off is through an Infrared blaster on the kinect that sends the signal to the tv after you say xbox on and xbox off or control the volume. The hdmi port does not send these signals as you stated. I appreciate the attempt on your part but trust me when
I say that after several hours of discussing this with support, I am well aware of how the remote works and precisely what the problem is with the remote.
