    Xbox refusing to update, even after hard reset


    I am currently experiencing an updating problem with my Xbox One S. I tried updating it today (2/27/2023), but every time it went to “update” it would stop at 2% (777.0MB) and then give me 3 error codes in this order: 0x80070570, 0x00000000, and 0x90000005.

    I’ve already hard factory reset it twice, the second time absolutely wiping it clean and it still won’t update. I got the xbox in 2018 and have never experienced a problem with it until now. I am not a member of anything besides Gold and Game Pass and I have been scouring the web trying to find answers.

    I’m just at my wits end and just hoping I don’t need to send it in as it is well passed its warranty date and I can only imagine how expensive it’s going to be.

    Have not done a hard reset.

    Even after a few days have passed after the update becomes available it still won't update so I'm forced to update manually. But the point is to have it done automatically.

    Hello, I've attempted to reset the headset numerous times, and even after the reset the headset refuses to connect to anything other than my Xbox and one other device, if it can't connect to my Xbox then it will only connect to one device.

    First thing to check is if the console is up and loaded, and just that the dashboard failed to load? That has happened to me sometimes. It responds to Xbox button presses and lets me load up My Games & Apps, or pressing and holding the Xbox button will
    pull up the power menu and a further reboot from there will fix the issue. Check to see if that helps, if not, there are also other great troubleshooting steps listed in this thread.

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We recommend trying a factory reset. In the

    offline update solution    , on step 3 try that and see if you are able to get the troubleshoot menu up. If you do select reset console, then select reset and keep my games and apps.
