Xbox refuses to connect to the Internet no matter what

If the Xbox uses the same dynamic IP it was originally assigned, it will go into standby mode for a while, and if a new device connects to your Wi-Fi, it can take over the assigned address, causing problems. Then Xbox will shut down and not connect because your IP address is being used, and you will need to shut down your Xbox completely to connect.

I just visited my friend who lives next door. His Xbox live works just fine and it says that Im online playing mass effect 3 multiplayer which I was when Live went down. My own Xbox still refuses to connect to internet no matter what I do. What's going on?

If you can't see any wifi networks then try and power cycle the xbox...let it sit unplugged for about 5 min

Also make sure you haven't changed any wifi settings on your router. You might want to power cycle it too.

It could be a bad wifi chip in the Xbox...try a wired connection and see if that works

Same thing is happening to me and it says im connected to the internet but cant connect to xbox live and it doesnt matter what i do
