Xbox redirect to support glitch(?)

I need to adjust settings for my Xbox account, but every time I sign in on my laptop (I don't own an Xbox), it automatically redirects me to the Xbox family support page. I can access the support home, but if I try to go to my profile, it's either back
to the family page, or my browser refuses to load. I've tried signing in through Microsoft first, and Xbox directly, but it's the same every time. I've also cleared cached data, tried opening the browser in safe mode, and rebooted my computer. I tried on my
phone as well, but the same error occurred. Any small help is welcome at this point, I've been fiddling with this for over an hour.

It sounds like your account may be a child account. Which would mean only a parent or guardian in charge of the family account could make these changes for you.

The system uses the age you gave when you created the account. While you can change your age anytime after the fact, it won't be recognized as your new official age. This is to prevent kids from just changing their ages to bypass content restrictions.

Go to Xbox.com and sign in to your account (this must be an adult account).

Note If you’ve forgotten your account email address or password, see the

Lost Account Solution or the
Lost Password Solution.
Select your gamertag.
Select More options , then select Xbox settings.
Select Privacy & online safety.
Select either the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab or the Privacy
tab. Review the current settings and update any that you want to change.
Select Save before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't save the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved.

Hello there!

Regarding your issue, you will need first to sign in to your Microsoft account and make sure that your account is not under 18. If the account is an adult, you will need to check your Microsoft family to see if you are added there as a child. If you are added to a Microsoft family as a child you will need to be removed from the family by the parent account.

After your account is removed, then you will be able to change the settings yourself.

You could also, try changing browsers and devices to see if that will resolve your issue.

When that happens, it means you're on a child account. Microsoft considers all accounts below 21 years as child accounts and the privacy settings page in inaccessible for them by default.

To change your privacy settings you'll need a parent/adult account. They'll need to add you to their family group as "Member", then go into that page and enable those settings for you.
