    XBOX recording vanished due to laptop power off.


    My windows shut down while I was recording my screen with Microsoft XBOX. Now it isn't visible in my captures. Is there any way to recover the recording. Please do let me know asap.

    Hello, Please go to the start button, then please select settings and after settings>gaming>captures on windows. There you will be able to see the folder where your recordings are stored in.

    Sorry, I mean that the Elgato requires power from a PC or Laptop before you see and hear your Xbox on your TV.

    If you aren't using your Elgato you need to unplug it. I keep mine plugged in and a laptop I use for broadcasting/recording is powered up whilst I play the Xbox.

    Try switching the USB the external HDD is connected to. Power off the system, switch the usb and power it back on.

    I had a similar problem, where all my games on the external drive "vanished"; someone suggested the above and it worked for me.

    ALSO Youbgotta remember when it comes to specs.desktop speca and laptop specs arent the same laptops are underpowereed due to power restrictions
