Xbox really does like to gift things to everyone... Except Colombian players, it seems.

I normally don't care about these types of things at all. I've been an Xbox One user since 2016 and I only care about playing, and when I created my account I got the usual discounts and promos that all players get (for a Gold subscription and later on for
Game Pass, regular and ultimate). I definitely invested a lot of hours playing on this console.

But then I have to stand there and watch other players, from United States, Europe AND even México (for some reason, Microsoft
only recognizes México as the only latin american country that plays on Xbox), so they get all sorts of gifts. They're playing, and out of nowhere they get a chat message from Xbox saying "hey, we love you, Imma gift you ____" (whether it is
DLC, points for the Microsoft rewards, or free credit to purchase stuff on their store). On my 4 years of playing, the only messages I get from Xbox are "hey, purchase Gold or Game Pass because this month we're offering ____" (paying full price for the things
that those messages offer).

I would have stayed quiet until the end of time, if Xbox didn't actually do this next thing: Sending everyone an email called "gifting to players was never easier" (hacer regalos a jugadores nunca fue tan fácil), and popular Xbox players from México
started instructing México players about how to redeem 5 dollars worth on a gift card for their next purchase. I went and followed exactly the same steps, but oh surprise, Xbox redirects me to the store to buy gift cards for the full price.
Here's the message they see when clicking on a green word that says "gift" (on my 2 mailbox one per account that I own, the word "gift" is not green and does not have a hyperlink, that word was just black without the option to click it):





Yeah, it's just 5 dollars. Yeah, it's just a small gift. And yeah, without this gift, we still have to pay for stuff we want to purchase. But in my 4 years of playing I have absolutely never received a f*cking gift like this, because I've had the misfortune
of living in Colombia, a forgotten country that Microsoft does not take into account for anything they do (unless we get to pay full price). Their beloved country is only México and, well, then there's the rest of the world (I believe that this might also
happen on countries that are not first-world, but who knows). Yeah, no one actually minds about a small gift, but I'm talking about 4 years worth of frequent gifts to everyone, if not more. Those are small gifts that have stacked up, and that might have allowed
me to get a cool game or DLC that I wanted to get in the past, but because I was short on a few pesos colombianos, I couldn't purchase it.

Colombia, a forgotten country, and this post, that will also be forgotten or ignored by the people in charge, because our money or passion is not worthy enough for a petty gift.
