Xbox Purchase Notification on PayPal

I do believe it is a genuine purchase through another account but some how this account had access to my PayPal account. I have only ever had the one account with Microsoft and as such I cannot access this other account, I am not sure which way to turn. I have cancelled Microsoft access to my PayPal but still have a bill which I do not own.

Its impossible to talk to someone at Microsoft Xbox to try and solve this issue and even if I could access someone I have no way of producing an email address and password to the account where the purchase was made.

I don't believe I have been hacked as the purchase was not big (Ultimate 3 Months) and no other purchases have been made.

I receive a purchase notification from PayPal but did not receive a notification from Microsoft.

I avoid places that store your card credentials if possible - like Paypal..

I tend to use PayPal a great deal because they add another layer of protection to an online purchase and whenever something happens with my account I get a notification for it on my phone through their app.

After cancelling the Game Pass subscription and then removing my PayPal (and also iDeal which apparently was also connected to my account) the notification still popped up. After adding PayPal back again, the notification still remained present in the XBOX app.

I truly think this is a bug in the XBOX app, something I won't be able to fix on my end. But if you've got more suggestions, I'm willing to try it all.

Add PayPal to your account

Use PayPal as a payment option

After you add PayPal to your account, you can use it either on Xbox.com or your Xbox 360 console. When you choose to purchase an item, select Change Payment Option and select your PayPal account. PayPal can be used for any purchase that uses currency.

View your PayPal purchase history

Troubleshoot the PayPal payment option

If you receive an Error: 8382025C the PayPal account you are trying to add is not supported. Xbox LIVE only supports PayPal accounts that have a credit card or confirmed bank account as a funding
source. Update your PayPal account with one of these funding sources, or try using a different PayPal account.

Try adding it to a PayPal account as a debit/credit card. Then link a PayPal account to your xbox, and purchase.

Essentially PayPal would just be the "middle man", in charge of exchanging the transaction.
