Xbox Profiles Managment problems

So ive had the same xbox account all my life and decided i wanted to make a second one. i made the mistake of creating the second account with the same email as my old one and now when i try to sign on to xbox on my laptop it only takes me to my new account not my old one. Ive already tried removing the old email from the new account and giving it a different email, but now when i try to log into my old profile with its original email Microsoft tells me that account doesn't exist even though im signed in on that account on my xbox and the old email is still linked to that old account.

Hello Tim, this is really weird because at the time of creating the account the system would not let you create a new account with an email that already exists.

By definition when accessing the Microsoft website and trying to create an account, it would inform you that this email already exists.

Where you did the creation of this new account on Xbox or PC, whether it was Pc was a local account only, or you made an Alias, if you can give more details.

Can I create myself another profile & turn my old profile into a kids profile? Maybe that would work idk.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. You can share the games with their new accounts via the Home setting, but they will have to start over as far as progress and anything else goes.
