Xbox Profile Messaging Assistance

Hello, I made a Xbox live account with a new email, and when I added my friend online, and tried to send him a message, it says "Because of your past behavior, you can't send messages."

There can't be no past behavior, I have not had this account for an hour, the email is also less than an hour old, and the previous account that was logged into microsoft doesn't have a reputation on xbox either

Xbox one messaging assistance need

For the past week or so my Xbox one has been showing that i have 5 unread messages. But when i go to read and clear them it turns out that there are no messages that are unread. I am an ambassador for xbox myself. But i do not know how to clear this weird
issue. If anyone know please let me know here.

Hi there,

please keep in mind that any past behavior can also affect the console so if in the past actions happened that resulted in enforcement actions they can be applied on console level too.

Since the account is brand new, you might also want to wait like 24 hours to see if that changes anything.

Also be sure to check if you can send messages via the Xbox App on Windows PC or other mobile devices

If it keeps failing and you are 100% sure past behavior didn't cause any enforcement actions then you can try to contact Xbox Support to see if they can check your account to see if there is something wrong on it causing this.

Hello,

When you go to check the messages, make sure you open up each individual thread - it could be an older message that the system is unread, so on the face of it when you open the messages tab they all look to be read but there's an unread one hiding in there.

If it's not that:

If you have an Xbox 360 boot it up (or start a backwards compatible game on Xbox One) and see if there are any pending friend requests or voice messages that are unread. That could be contributing to the number.

to try using the
Xbox.com> My Account > Messages or the Xbox console to help review your Messages on your Xbox profile.
