xbox profile is lost

Hi, I upgraded my console to the the Xbox One x from xbox 1 and when I logged in my old profile, gamer tag and live has disappeared! I thought I had logged in using the Microsoft email address associated with the account but it has just created a new gamer tag and profile which i never chose. I have lost the xbox live as it is attached to the original account and I just cant get it back on. Please can anyone advise as all the online help just refers to the microsoft emails account log in and then recovering it but it hasn’t worked and i always get the new account after recovery which hasnt got my game progress and xbox gold live attached to it! I cant even ring them to ask a person for help nor online chat either

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. To confirm, you upgraded to a new console but you're no longer able to access the account that you would use on your previous console? For security reasons, we are unable to provide account information on the support forums or through our support channels. I am able to supply account recovery tips (which I'll link below), and I can also link you directly to our one on one support.

If you still have access to your Xbox One, you can always pinpoint the email address with the console using the following steps: Find your Microsoft account email address | Xbox Support

If you would prefer direct one on one support, please visit Contact us | Xbox Support. Please keep in mind that one on one support will also be unable to provide any personal information. Recovering a lost gamertag will require the user to have access to the original email address. I would recommend confirming the email address that was used for your original console because it's possible the email address you're attempting to use now is different compared to an email address that was previously used.

Hello,

Can you please check your Xbox 360 storage device for any sort of corrupt profiles? Please go to Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Gamer Profiles > Look for anything that is corrupt or has a
( ! ) symbol. If you see something that is corrupt, please select the profile, and press A and Delete it (profile only).

Once that's done, now attempt to download your profile again.

Push the middle button on your Xbox 360 controller and go to Download Profile. If you do not see Download Profile then press X on your controller and sign out of your current profile. You should now see Download Profile.

See if that works out for you.

You can recover the account by pressing the Xbox guide button (the big X in the center of the controller), and if not signed in to an account, selecting 'Download Profile', and then entering the correct email and password.

To get a profile back, you must download it from Xbox LIVE using the email address (Microsoft account) and password it was created with. Please see the below guide for step-by-step instructions.
