Xbox power cable static/sparking noises

Once the console plug(not the wall plug) is in, the spark noises start however at a “very” particular angle i can get the xbox to start without any unusual noise. But once i plug it in the spark noises start the power in the xbox will go on and off at
time from receiving and cut power(i have an external hard drive connected to the xbox with a light to signal its on). Im assuming its the cord because the popping noise while kind of subtle doesnt sound muffled like its inside the xbox

what exactly do you mean with 'the slot' is that on the console side? If so then I personally would first connect it on console side and after that connect it to a wall socket side.

It will be difficult to decide if it's cable or console, be sure to check if the slot on console side is clean, so no dust or dirt is present in the slot.

If the same thing happens when you use a new cable, then I myself would assume it's the console.

Is it plugged in when you connect it to the xbox . If so that would give a pop sparking noise.

If not it would be safer to get it checked out . Don't want a fire hazard in your home 🤔👍

To be honest , if you're seeing or hearing sparking, you should really stop using, until you isolate the problem.

I'd rather go without gaming than have someone get injured or start a fire
