    Xbox Power Brick (Orange Light to No Light)


    I recently was in the middle of playing a game yesterday when there was a loud pop and my entire Xbox shut down. At this moment, I unplugged the PSU from the back of the unit as well as the wall and waited for a reset for about 30 mins. Upon plugging everything
    back in and trying a reboot, I noticed the solid orange light on my power supply brick when I plugged it into the outlet. When I connected it to the console, the brick light went dead. Is my PSU shot?

    Just to confirm, when the console is off your power brick has an orange light and when on it displays a green light, also the console does not show any red lights on it, it simply switches off reverting the power brick to the orange light?

    this didn't seem to work for me, but it seems like it works and it's legit and will fix. I might be doing it wrong maybe. Also my console has light blue light at the front not orange?
    by blue light do you mean the xbox symbol that lights up next to the disc tray? so thats the front of the xbox

    the light im talking about is the xbox's power supply the brick looking thing that has a flat white light when on or if the xbox symbol (power button) is held for 30 seconds the power bricks light should go orange

    Bad power supply unit. I was told by xbox.

    Found something interesting during my 3.5 hours on chat last night with MS, the constant orange light on the power brick turned off when I unplugged my cable box from the HDMI in port. without that plugged in, the brick has no light at all. If I leave everything
    else plugged in except the hdmi in, there is no light at all and no power, if I plug in the hdmi in, the light turns orange again on the brick.
