xbox power brick malfunction?

I've sent the Xbox off to get repaired and I'm getting a power brick replacement from a friend of mine who has a spare. If that doesn't work and it keeps malfunctioning then I'll just buy a new Xbox I think.

The power brick light is green when it's running, also lately the Xbox seems to take quite a long time to turn off completely, most of the time double tapping the power button pad thing it'll turn off immediately, I'm wondering if it doing this is a symptom
(for lack of a better word) of the malfunction.

Thanks for the reply, but servicing is not an option for me because I moved from the US to a country not on the supported list for servicing. I left a spare power brick back home in the US. Could using that power brick possibly solve the issue? I can’t tell
if it’s my console or my power brick malfunctioning.

Its been reported that the April update has caused some controllers to malfunction.

Reports of drifting, lagging by moving in certain directions and pressing of buttons are among the issues. Newer controllers have been working fine and then essentially bricked by the update.

Support recommends doing a power cycle and then unplugging the Xbox One from the power for 5 minutes. Afterward powering on the console via the controller.

Is this possible your Xbox One is an origina one? If it is, maybe the issue lies in the Power Brick, that can be malfunctioning or similar.

If its an S or X, I would tell you to check with another AC cord to see if that is the issue or not.

Or, at last instance, like JUST DO IT415 says, Microsoft Support is your best bet.
