Xbox Play and charge kit says its charged in Windows but disconnects after a few seconds

You can contact the retailer you purchased the battery from to see what their return policy is, but other than that you would need to contact Xbox Customer Support to help you set up any orders for Xbox accessories if you only use them for Windows because
you need a registered Xbox One console to your Microsoft Account in order to set up replacement orders for Xbox accessories, so if you don't own a console, you will need help from support. Here is the best way to contact customer support:

1. Contact us here
2. Select Xbox One
3. Select See other options
4. Select Payment & billing under Account management
5. Select show contact options
6. Select "Request a call from Support" if available within hours of operation or there should be a number for you to call and hours of operation for your region if a callback option is not available

Update on PC

Update your controller on a Windows 10 PC by using the Xbox Accessories app:

1. If you don’t already have the app installed, get it in the Microsoft Store.
2. Open the Xbox Accessories app.
3. Connect your Xbox One Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
   
   Note You'll be prompted to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition if you haven't yet done so.
4. When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.

Notes

• The Xbox Accessories app is available only on Windows 10.
• Controllers that don't have a built-in 3.5-mm audio port must be updated using a USB connection and must have the Windows 10 TH2 Update (or later).
• Updating the controller over Bluetooth is not supported.
• To customize the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 in the Xbox Accessories app, get the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (or later) and make sure your PC has the latest fixes. See
  how to get updates.
• Bluetooth requires a PC running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. See Windows Update: FAQ to learn how to get the latest Windows update.

Only other thing i cqn think of bud is that the controller needs an update, im not sure how you'd do it through PC, but im sure i can find the answer for you. I just had to update my controller 2 days ago so thats the only thing i can think of right now,

How am I supposed to replace the battery? The warranty is apparently only 90 days and I bought this kit in August (exactly 91 days ago). I posted this issue yesterday, so technically in warranty. But I doubt that will be of any help.
