XBOX PC app won't close games properly

    XBOX PC app won't close games properly


    I know I'm not the only one having this problem as I saw it on some games subreddit, even for not insiders, but to me it's on all of my Xbox Games on PC.

    When I close them via the in-game menu, the XBOX app still shows it running and I have to go to the task manager to close it manually for each game. It does eats my ressources like the game was running at max even though I can't access it.

    I use the service for years now and it's only happening to me since a week or two and has become systematic.

    I wonder if it has to do with recent app and gamebar update I did, I don't think it happened before, but since I did them I only played one game (Onimusha) and shut down my computer after each session so I can't be sure.

    Has someone have found a definitive fix ?

    Games not launching (but they were yesterday)

    This problem was happening to me for a while until I realised what is happening.

    The Problem is not the Xbox app but the game app itself. If the error is that the app keeps randomly closing down or will not even open, It is the app and probably the apps fault or the pc's fault, its actually when trying to play a game or a app.

    Most probably have to use a different device to use the app properly.

    Hi, Roger.

    Xbox's dependencies for PC are basically programs, like the Xbox app, the Gaming Services app, and services that are already running on your PC.
    All this allows the Xbox app (and basically Microsoft Store games) to function properly.

    Have you checked for any new windows 10 updates sometimes it's required to have your pc up to date or some apps won't work properly

    I believe it is meant to be like that, it says "remotely download to the Xbox" so I am pretty sure it was designed to be like that

    I could be wrong as I dont game on pc but it specified Xbox. You could try to close the app as I have to do that for it to refresh properly. When the game downloads you also have to play it not just have it downloaded
