Xbox PC app - Error 0x8007001f when downloading games

When I try to install a game through the xBox PC app, where I use the Game Pass Ultimate, I am met with "Error 0x8007001f". The error message shows up when the game reaches 100% download/installation. I have tried searching online and read more than a dusin
threats, but none of the given solutions have worked, if there has been any. Or, no solutions have been given by Microsoft to solve this issue. I am met with the same issue when I try installing a game through Microsoft Store (using the Game Pass) on my computer.

According to some of the threats, the issue seems to be that the games require administrator approval before it can be installed. I am on an adminsitrator account on my computer, and the xbox app and Windows system is on the same drive (my only drive on
the computer, C/drive) as I have told the app to install the games on.

I hope that someone can give me a solution, or offer an explanation as to why this happens. I think the service looks good, but up until now I have spent a lot of time trying to solve the issue, with no succes. I have a friend, who suggested me the service,
who uses the service and downloads and installs games without any problems or errors. So there must be a workable solution to this.

    :)

Original poster here. I used to use AVG Free but I uinstalled it the other day in an attempt to resolve this issue (a recommendation from another thread I have read on this subject) and I new rely solely on Windows Defender (for the time being). I have, since the making of this post, also been in contact with both xbox support and Windows tech support in order to fix this issue. I learned what you said: The issue was in the store. Unfortunately, the tech support was not able to fix this either.
I have tried: Running Windows Media creation tool, which reinstalled my Windows; Running a clean boot; reinstalling my audio-drivers; giving myself ownership of the WindowsApps on my PC; disabeling logon-refresh on my user; creating a new, local administrator user on my PC; resetting the Windows Store; doing a DSIM/operations/rebuildhealth command (among other, smaller actions). None of the mentioned "fixes" has helped.
In running the media tool I got my Windows updated to the very newest of versions (as confirmed by tech support). I feel like I am running out of options.
The friend I have, who is running the service without any issues, has offered his suggestions, which unfortunately havent fixed the issue either. The issue seems to be that the store wants "administrator approval" when installing games. Some of my attempted actions should have helped this, but havent. I am running low on ideas.
Note: I am not running Windows on a mac, but on an Acer dekstop

Cannot download Xbox Game Pass for PC games that require Administrator Approval

    Hi,

There is a big misunderstanding of how the Xbox App works on PC. The Xbox App is not a stand alone application like Steam, Origin or GoG Galaxy. In terms of downloading and even running games, the Xbox App is like a portal. When you chose to download a PC
game on the App, the download is sent to the Windows Store App, and it is the Windows Store that does the download. The Xbox App doesn't download anything.

Like wise, any error messages you get while downloading content using the App are Windows Error codes. As far as I can determine 0x8007001f is a Windows Update error.

Have you tried to repair your Windows install using the

    Windows 10 media creation tool?

Xbox Game Pass (PC) will not allow me to open any games.

    Hi,

Error 0x8007001f is a Windows Store error, not a Game Pass App error. There is some confusion around the Xbox App, with many users believing the app is like Steam or Origin, it isn't.

For downloading Game PC games the Xbox App works as a kind of portal, when you choose to download games through it, they actually download via the Windows Store.

In addition to this, games install via a protected folder called 'WindowsApps'. Not only is this folder protected, it's also encrypted. This can cause a lot of issues with some Anti-virus or other real-time security software on Windows as the these programs
are not allowed by the OS to read these folders.

Disabling an Antivirus program may not be enough as they still tend to run in the background (this is a feature of these applications to continue to run as preventative manner from viruses trying to disable them).

    What is your anti-virus/security software?

Xbox Game Pass PC error 0x8007001f when installing games initially

I have the same problem here. Every Xbox Game Pass for PC game with "Administrator approval required for installation" in the description fails to install with error code 0x8007001F The game download starts fine, but as soon it gets to the part where the
installation should start - boom! - error 0x8007001F

The Windows 10 on my computer is up to date. All the device drivers are fine and up to date. The restarting of the computer, change of region settings, reinstalling Xbox Beta app, using Windows Store app instead, reinstalling of Windows 10 on different hard
drive (and some other of the commonly available "fixes") - nothing helps. The problem persists. The problematic computer is Apple iMac 27-inch model March 2019 with Windows 10 installed on a separate hard drive. On my Lenovo laptop the same Xbox Game Pass
PC account works without any problems.

Unable to install several games (Error 0x8007001f) and unable to play any game with Xbox Game Pass for PC

It seems we are not the only ones (and Bandido1508 copy/paste the answer) :

    https://xbox-forums.com/threads/error-0x8007001f.320780/

And updating does not seems to fix the problem.

I really don't think the windows link given above are the right solution, as this is a generic windows error code (why would audio driver block Xbox games from installing... ?)

In fact it seems that this is more a not-being and Administrator account problem :

    https://answers.microsoft.com/fr-fr...8007001F/309ead87-86b1-4f0e-9e1e-753033d27d5b

And apparently, if Windows 10 system resides on an external hard disk it somehow messes up the installation process for "Administrator approval required for installation" games (Error 0x8007001f
    with Xbox Game Pass PC).

At the moment, in my case, it seems there is no solution to this problem :-(

I can't change my install (I moved Windows 10 on an external USB drive as I wanted more space for OSX on my laptop).

I have to wait for an update of XBox app if any.
