Xbox Party Chat’s Chat Mixer Barely Adjusts

Chat mixer on xbox one does not work properly, No matter what setting it is on i can still hear voice and game sounds the same. If i have it set all the way to game sounds i can still hear the voice chat just as loud if not louder. I have tried everything found on xbox forums and youtube nothing has worked. We need a system update to fix this bug!!!!

Recently switched from Xbox One S to Xbox One X, ever since i have not had the option under “settings” in the system tab to manually set the mixer. Went out and purchased a brand new headset with a psychical chat mixer and that does nothing at all same issues.

Headsets that ive tried are Astro A40 by itself, then with the m60 mixer attachment, then with the mixamp pro tr (most expensive). And finally A40 + mixamp pro m80. None of these have fixed my issue and im tired of wasting my money.

I FIGURED OUT THE SOLUTION!

The above post is a thread that has been shut down before an answer was actually found. After struggling with this issue for 6-12 months and trying every solution online, I finally discovered the solution myself.

*** Under Xbox’s Settings>General>Volume & Audio Output>Additional Options>Party Chat Output MUST BE TURNED TO “HEADSET” ONLY! (Also while you’re there, switch Chat Mixer to “Do Nothing”.)

I guess there’s a bug that interferes with the Party Chat settings when trying to put the voice audio through both your TV and Headset.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. There is an audio setting called chat mixer which balances the party chat volume with the rest of the volume on the console. The article entitled

Sorry but I have to know, the party chat on PC don't already have a mixer to adjust the volume?

I got it, for now., until I want to be in a chat party. I adjusted the headset chat mixer to the left. Thank you! Been messing with this for days

Game or app audio becomes inaudible during voice chat

If your active game or app becomes quiet or inaudible when you're using Kinect in party chat or on a Skype call, your Chat mixer may be set to focus only on the conversation. To adjust the level of sound while communicating, adjust
the Chat mixer settings:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select System > Settings.
Select Display & sound > Volume.
Select Chat mixer, the choose one of the options.
