xbox party chat turning off my mic when switching to game or back to desktop

thanks for the reply, everything is up to date. I even reinstalled game bar once, it helped. but only once. There is no way to upgrade the firmware of the headset. Using plantronics rig 800LX, there is no additional software for it. It uses usb dongle for wireless with switch for pc/xbox. looks like when I disconnect the headset and plug it in again it works. In addition to turning off mic when switching apps, it turns off mid over time, even if I stay in game. the time it works varies from 2mins to half an hour during gameplay. Was thinking about some usb port powersaving feature, where it basically runs off power when not used, but that isn't the case as except mic everything is ok. Happened to me also during a teams meeting, so i had to dig up my old usb jabra uc voice headset, that will keep the mic connected all the time, it is just not really useful for gaming.

You could try making sure that your headset firmware is completely updated. I have no issues at all with my headset when I am using the Game Bar for party chat, so that would be my first suggestion. Also, make sure your computer is updated as well as the Game Bar. You can check for Game Bar updates in the Microsoft Store.

Try unplugging and plugging back your mic when tou switch back from game to party chat

Default setting is party chat. I have followed advice to switch settings from open mic/party chat to push to talk/game chat. I tried this several times, saving settings then exiting game, reloading game and switching settings back to open mic/party chat.
Nothing has been successful.

If its fortnite the game is bugged i usally turn off all the audio settings then turn it back on restart fortnite and join a xbox party then switch to game chat it works sometimes
