Xbox party chat on PC reduces audio quality from Bluetooth headphones

For some reason, whenever I start an Xbox party on PC using Xbox Game Bar the audio quality to my Bluetooth headphones turns poor and goes from 5.1 to mono. Then when I leave the party, the audio quality returns to normal. Help me.

    EDIT:

When same headset is wired, problem no longer persists.

Still want to solve the Bluetooth problem

    .

I would speculate that the additional bandwidth of party chat may cause problems using Bluetooth in retaining quality.

I’d recommend plugging in the headset directly via usb if this is a possible, or if you have the means using an Xbox wireless adapter either with compatible headphones or. An Xbox controller. These systems use WiFi direct which is much higher bandwidth.
    Thank you SwordofWhedon.

It does seem to be a bandwidth issue.

As stated above the audio works fine when having the headset plugged in through 3.5mm jack aux.

I have originally tried the Xbox Wireless adapter V2, but the connection satiability was very poor for my headphones. It would always cut and crackle trying to hold a connection. My USB ports are 3.0 btw. I understand the Wireless adapter is only USB 2.0

If you have any suggestions to make it work with the Wireless adapter without the connection issues, I'd love to hear it.

Otherwise I'll just be using my headset wired from now on.

Kinda terrible system considering gamers won't use party chat on PC if their Bluetooth headphones won't work properly.

If the issue persists also on a pc try the following:

Click the Windows 10 start menu and type in 'PowerShell'.

Right-click the PowerShell app and click “Run as administrator”.

Type the following command and press the Enter key:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

Wait until the process is finished. It should only take a few seconds to run.

Type exit and press the Enter key to exit PowerShell.

    Then install the app again!

Hi there Joel welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Please try this!

    1. Turn off your Xbox using the power button on the console.

    2. Once your Xbox has completely powered down, unplug the power cord from the back of the console. Don't simply unplug the cord from the wall's electrical socket — it must be disconnected from your Xbox.

    3. Wait for 5 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord to both the Xbox console and the electrical socket.

    4. Let another minute pass. If you're using an original Xbox One (as opposed to an Xbox One S or One X), watch for a small white light to appear on the Xbox One's power brick (the rectangular part of the power cord). Once the white light turns orange, you can turn your Xbox One back on. If you're using an Xbox One S or One X, just wait out the minute and turn it on afterwards.
