    Xbox party chat disconnects randomly on both series s and laptop frequently


    I have an issue where my party chat disconnects and kicks me from the party frequently. I have a NetGear Wifi connection and really good upload and download speeds. Is there a port forwarding issue going on or is it just because I am connected to wifi it doesnt work all that well? I can provide as many details as needed. Thanks. I have an open nat type as well.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    You may need to perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware. Kindly to this step with your Laptop as well.

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    Also, if that didn’t work, you may need to try and use a different network connection to test if it’s your WiFi or not.

    I also have this same issue; it disconnects randomly and reconnects after a while. It looks like that as much I use party chat more frequently the disconnections get, until it's barely usable, so I have to reboot. This happens only
    on PC either in Console Companion App and Win+G, but doesn't with my XBOX (Same network, same router, same all), for 1 mouth now. Also, Discord and Skype works with no problem at all.

    This is ridiculous. I have wasted days trying to fix my party chat issues. About 1/5th of the time it randomly works but other than that it keeps saying disconnected for one or all of the players in party chat. New modems running ipv4 & 6, tried changing
    settings on both modem and xbox, sat for hours on hold with service provider, cant find a damn phone number to speak with an “xbox specialist” of any kind (billion dollar companies shouldnt have this bad service). Any help? NAT types arent making a difference,
    but mainly all are open!
