    Xbox Party Chat Causing Issues with WiFi


    Please Help!! My Xbox One X is experiencing WiFi issues, but only when I'm in a party with other people. I just recently upgraded to an Xbox One X from an Original Xbox One and the original Xbox One had no issues with this. I know
    its not the internet because no other devices lose connection when my Xbox One X does.

    For example i'll be playing a game like PUBG or FORTNITE and will not ever have issues all day long. Then if I am playing with someone and I'm in party chat then at some point my Xbox One X will disconnect from the WiFi also removing me from the game and
    party. Then all I have to do is go reconnect(or wait until it reconnects on its own) and it reconnects like there were no issues. Not sure why this is happening. Please, if you have any suggestions for any solutions I would greatly appreciate it.

    Party Chat. Still broken. Fix it. Now!

    Do you and all the members in your party chat have the Open NAT settings? This has been causing a lot of issues with the chat not working correctly

    It could be one of several issues. Have you tried power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down?

    Also, there are changes coming to the chat system (as per Major Nelson) where the party chat will be on dedicated servers. Now if anyone from your party is in the preview program they will be testing this feature. If someone in their party is not in the
    preview then the party system will default to the regular party system. However, it may be possible that the preview (if you are in it) may be causing issues with normal party chat with others.

    are you only disconnected from the party or live etc too have you noticed?

    Are you using a wifi or ethernet cable connection?

    If wifi then I suggest trying ethernet, if the issue goes there maybe issue with the wifi on either your modem/provider side or the wifi in the xbox itself. Can my minimal dip in service but enough to drop the chat/party.

    Hello there,

    Different NAT types can definitely cause issues in a party chat and in a game. Your network connection can also cause issues in a party chat and in a game. The strength of the Wireless Connection, bandwidth and other people using devices on the same connection.
    All of this can cause issues.

    Yes, we can normally play other games together with friends and use party chat without any issue at all.

    I had first thought that it could be an issue with the games servers, as it does have its issues, but then I thought of the problem of the xbox live party chat and thought I should post here first to see what you guys think. Would that game specifically
    cause a problem with party chat? I would not have thought it to be possible.
