    Xbox Party Chat Audio is not working


    Hi,

    I ran into an issue yesterday where I could not hear anyone in parties despite them talking and showing on the party overlay, although I cannot hear them. I had hoped it would have resolved itself by today, however the issue is still there and I’m not sure what to do to resolve this. I’ve tested trying to hear them through TV volume and my headset and cannot hear anyone on either so I think it maybe an issue with my console. I have also checked my privacy and online safety settings as the trouble shooting steps provided, and that also did not work with resolving the issue. I have tried hard resetting my console, power cycling, making new parties with different hosts, and unplugging my headset multiple times, none of which resolved the issue. I can still hear game sound and they can still hear me in the party, I just cannot hear them apart from occasionally when they first join the party for a brief moment I can. Does anyone else have the same issue or a resolution?

    To be able to record party chat audio you will need an Elgato or anything external capture card as that will capture any audio on your Xbox (Party, Game, All audio)

    When i talk audio message i mean AUDIO MESSAGE NOT PARTY CHAT.

    Party chat is not message.

    And when i power on my console series x and previews xbox consoles(For example xbox one s) when i am at menu the audio messages work fine i can hear them normally but when i run any game(EXCEPT FOTZA HORIZON 5) any audio message send or receive i CAN'T listen it.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

    Could you, please, elaborate a bit more on specifically what audio are you unable to hear when you have your headset connected to your controller? Game audio or Party chat audio?

    If this pertains to Party chat audio, then I recommend that you take a look at

    this     article as it covers different troubleshooting techniques for diffrent scenarios reguarding party chat.

    Keep in mind that certain headsets, if not equipped with a stereo feature, only support one type of chat, that is usually Party chat.
