Xbox party and game chat intermittent issues help.

I'm on a 3month old Series X, while in XB party or game chat (destiny 2) I keep losing sound. If Im in an xbparty I have to open the party menu for sound to come back, I cant do that for game chat. I'm using the new microsoft xb wireless headset, which I just bought a second pair of thinking it was the headset. I can use discord chat with no issues which also leads me to believe its not the headset.

any suggestions?

Are you only having this issue in Destiny 2?

Let's try some basic steps to isolate the issue. Kindly go to your Xbox Settings. Select Network Settings > Advanced Settings. Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address> select Clear. Allow the console to restart when prompted then try to launch the game again.

If that did not work, try changing your DNS. Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS settings > manual

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

then check again.

Im hardwired and would rather not play on wifi, but I will reset and see how that goes.

I tried both and it worked for a few hours, but its started up again.

any other ideas?

Alrighty. Kindly save your account information first before resetting your Xbox so you can easily download it again after the reset. You can refer to this link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne... as your guide.
