    good Afternoon

    My xbox one used to be able to read my 4tb western digital hard drive but since i got my xbox back after having it restored it will not show the files

    The hard drive will appear but it says there are no files on this device

    And my 2tb works fine

    Next option is to format but i would like to avoid that if there is another fix

    External Hard Drive Problems

    I recently bought a 4TB Seagate Expansion portable hard drive to upgrade from my 1.5TB Seagate Expansion portable hard drive. I have stored movies and TV shows on the 1.5TB, which was formatted to FAT32 with no problems playing it on my Xbox One. I did the
    exact same thing with my 4TB (tried FAT32 and even exFAT) and moved everything onto that hard drive. My Xbox One is not recognizing any of my files on the 4TB hard drive. When I open up the media player, it says "no devices found", but when I go into Settings>Storage,
    the hard drive shows up, but it says 3.6TB of 3.6TB free as if there's nothing on the hard drive. If I plug the hard drive into my Macbook, all of the files show up and work perfectly. How do I get my Xbox One to recognize my files on my hard drive??!!

    Hello, everyone. I want to ask the following subject: it results that I bought an Xbox One X which has 1TB Hard Drive and I want to store all games in the 4TB external hard drive I previously own but I want to keep my Profile exclusively on my Xbox One.
    My question is: if I transfer the games to the 4TB external Hard Drive will my Profile still be just on my Xbox One and not get transfered with the games as well to the 4TB external hard drive?. I want my Profile to be just on the Xbox One. I do not wanna
    get it transfered to the 4TB external hard drive...

    I don't know what file format Xbox One uses with external hard drives but when you first connect a drive the console should offer to format the drive for games (If it meets the specs), With my Xbox One I have both a 2TB and 4TB external hard drives connected
    and working without any issues for playing games.
    I have the same set up as gds1972 and it handles the data with no issues. It is maybe that using FAT34 allows file transfer of game clips to non Microsoft OS possible.

    With my Seagate 4TB, Can I moved the games to from my Uncle's Internal Hard Drive to my Seagate 4TB External Hard Drive & still play them without purchasing?

    I used 2 external hard drives one 4TB one 2TB and the only issue I have 3 times is when I turn on my xbox. one of the hard drives is not read properly and won't show any games that on it but the console will still show how much memory is left. But I just
    have to take out the hard drive and put it back in and it fixes it.
