    Hi y'all.

    My original x box keeps powering up and opening the drive drawer.

    Can't close it with the open/close button but it closes when I power down the unit.

    Anyone know what's the problem with my vintage box?

    Maybe its something on the tray or the tray button.

    Also male sure there is nothing obstructing the tray.

    you might also open the tray and then hold the xbox with the tray facing the ground, in case something fell inside and can easily fall out.

    The console you are asking about is the xbox 360 or the first edition xbox? Please confirm which one, thanks!

    In the meantime, check the faceplate on the 360 or the xbox where the disk drive is and make sure its securely attached.

    Hello the same problem I had the only thing I could do and send it to assistance. In your case the warranty is now expired, you could ask a store that repairs PCs to help them solve the problem.
